A jacket-style haori sourced directly from Japan, c. 1960s and originally intended as menswear. The outer black silk has a textured weave with a lightly ‘slubbed’ finish, and is lined with a contrasting grey-blue silk. This haori comes with the original green tie cords at the waist, which include elaborate metal hook attachments. The metal is somewhat tarnished and the cord join a little faded, but this is not visible when the garment is worn. Much of this garment is hand stitched with an impeccable attention to detail and craft.
