Please read the condition description carefully, as this is a flawed sample piece and is not sewn to a retail or bespoke standard.
A test sample of a c. 1890s corset pattern. Constructed from a single layer of silk-cotton blend duchesse satin in a Cocoa shade, with beige coutil re-enforcement on the centre front and eyelet panels. Beige twill tape forms the interior bone channels and waist tape. Structured with steel bones and synthetic baleen. Fastens with a copper toned busk at the centre front, and copper toned eyelets with cotton lacing at the rear. The satin binding is all hand finished for a beautiful external finish.
This garment was a quick pattern test, so the stitching is relatively messy and unsightly on the garment interior. On the exterior, there are some small iron marks around the busk loops, and one of the right hand back bone channels has a small visible bulge.
Sizing:
The waist closes at around 20", best suited for a natural waist of around 24". This corset does not offer a particularly dramatic silhouette, and instead gives a 1890s-esque shape with a lightly rounded abdomen. The hips close around 32", and the bust around 34".
