Please read the condition description carefully, as this is a flawed sample piece and is not sewn to a retail or bespoke standard.
This corset sample was made as a detailed toile to test a Sparklewren corset pattern. Silk-cotton satin blend satin midbust corset with gored hips. Black French chantilly lace is hand appliquéd to the centre front and each gore point. Hand finished satin binding. Structured with a mix of flat steel and synthetic baleen. Black enamelled eyelets and black cotton lacing.
Flaws: Not stitched to a retail standard. Uses a longer stitch length than custom orders. Some doubled over stitching or imperfect top stitching. The gores at the hips are not neatly inserted, with the points machine zigzagged over rather than hand flossed. This is very visible on the corset interior, but not on the exterior, and the corset is still structurally sound. Some lace appliqué stitching goes through to the lining.
Best suited for approximately a UK 10. See the full measurements below for details.
Measurements are provided with the corset laced completely shut, but of course the garment can be worn with a gap in the back (recommended up to 2"). Lacing gaps should be one of the following shapes: /\ \/ || - a lacing gap of )( or () shapes may damage the corset with prolonged wear. Bust: 34" Closed waist: 22" (will stretch to 23" with extended wear due to lack of waist tape) Hip: 36" CF height: 14.5" CB height:13.5 " Side height: 11.5" This piece is not recommended for tightlacing due to the construction methods used.
