This luxurious sample corset was originally created with the intention to be worn at Karolina Laskowska's wedding, eventually only being worn for a single quick photoshoot. Although this piece isn't sewn to an exact retail standard, it would make an exquisite bridal or eveningwear ensemble and has plenty of life left in it.
The corset is made of a single layer of silk/cotton blend duchesse satin in a 'biscotti' cream tone, with a layer of cotton coutil at the centre front and back for re-enforcement. An overlay of French chantilly lace in pale pink is symmetrically cut across the body of the corset. The corset is extensively embellished with hand stitched ostrich feathers, Swarovski crystals, and hundreds of freshwater pearls in ivory and soft pink tones, both stitched to the garment body or draped at the neckline and hips. Lobster clasps and small stitched rings make this draped embellishment removable according to your tastes.
Bone channels are made from cotton twill tape, encasing a mix of flat and spiral steel bones for support. Two part eyelets at the centre back have a gold toned finish. The corset also comes with a French chantilly lace overskirt, with a scalloped edge hem. It fastens with an invisible zip at the side seam. The original skirt waist was approximately 30" closed, and has been altered with a gather at the centre back waistline to fit a 26" waist. This can be removed if desired. The skirt has since been re-embellished with small sprays of ostrich feathers, visible in the photoshoot images.
The corset is not stitched to a retail standard, most notably with two small repairs to the silk at the back waist (only visible on the interior of the garment). It has been worn at a single photoshoot. These flaws are reflected in the heavily discounted price. This is an occasionwear piece and is not recommended for tightlacing or waist training. A similar ensemble, if created as bespoke garments, would cost around 90,000NOK.
The closed waist on this garment is 20", recommended for approximately a UK 8-10. Corsets should be worn 4-5" smaller than your natural waist size. The closed measurements of the corset are approximately 356" bust, 20" waist and 35" hip.
